We are appealing for information to help identify a man sadly found dead at a property in Nelson.
Police were called by the Ambulance Service around 8.40pm on May 22 to a report of body being found at 11 Manor Street.
The Ambulance Service had earlier received a report of concern for safety. Fire crews forced entry to the property with the man’s body found inside.
No cause of death has been established but it is not being treated as suspicious.
Following CCTV enquiries, police would like to identify this man, seen at a nearby store on May 18. Officers believe he could be the same man located at the address in Manor Street.
Officers are appealing for information to help identify him and want to trace the man’s next of kin.
Det Sgt Andy Bleasdale, of Burnley CID, said: “We are appealing for information to help identify a man sadly found dead at an address in Nelson.
“We have conducted a number of enquiries but have yet to identify him and are urging anyone who can assist us to come forward.
“We believe this man, pictured at a local store on May 18, could be the man who died.
“If you recognise him, please come forward and speak to us. Any information we receive would be treated in the strictest confidence.”
