Written by on May 28, 2020

Five areas of Lancashire have announced no new coronavirus cases in Lancashire, according to Public Health England figures released this evening (May 28).

A total of 18 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours and mainly focused in the west of the county.

South Ribble, Wyre and West Lancashire recorded the most with three new cases each while Preston, Fylde and Blackpool increase by two.

There were no new cases reported in Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle and the Ribble Valley.

There are now 4,599 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Lancashire as a whole, but it is highly likely that cases where no symptoms have been shown are not included in this figure due to limited testing being done.

It comes as Lancashire recorded new hospital deaths, according to today’s NHS figures.

All four patients died at East Lancashire Hospitals, including two on May 27 and one on both May 22 and 23.

No deaths were recorded at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, which manages Preston and Chorley, Blackpool teaching Hospitals, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay and Southport and Ormskirk hospitals.
