Man dies in motorcycle crash – appeal for witnesses

We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died following a collision.
The incident happened at 4pm yesterday (Saturday, May 30th) on the A588 at Cockerham when a Suzuki motorcycle left the road and came to rest in a field.
The rider, a 55-year-old man from Thornton, sadly died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts remain with his loved ones at this time.
Sgt Paul Maguire, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Tac Ops, said: “Very sadly this incident has resulted in a man losing his life and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage, to come forward and contact us.”
