Ring Way in Preston city centre reopens after sinkhole repairs
Written by Skywave Radio News on June 1, 2020
A 200m stretch of road in Preston city centre has reopened following investigation works and repairs.
Highways officers closed part of Ring Way, near to the courts, at 6am on Saturday (May 30) after a ‘depression emerged in the road surface’.
A lane closure was put in place on Thursday (May 28) and officers then closed the northbound side just north of Lawson Street to the junction with North Road.
Lancashire County Council has now confirmed that the road reopened this afternoon.
In a post on Twitter, they said: “If you’re travelling around #Preston this afternoon, Ring Way is now reopen.
“We’re sorry for any disruption during the closure.”
