Man wanted by police after two women assaulted with hammer

Written by on June 2, 2020

Police are asking for help to find a man wanted in connection with a ‘nasty attack’ in Preston.

Officers were called to an address on Ripon Street following reports two women had been assaulted with a hammer at the address.

A small quantity of cash was also stolen during the same incident. Both women were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The incident happened at around 9.10pm yesterday (June 1).

Anthony Morris, 32, is wanted in connection with the assault.

He is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He has circular burn marks on the back of his hands and a tattoo of a woman’s name on one of his arms. He also has a scar across his stomach.

Police said he has links to Blackpool and Preston.

DC Mark Thornton, of Preston Police, said: “This was a nasty attack which left two women with head injuries and we would like to speak to Morris as part of our investigation.

We would now ask anybody with information as to his whereabouts not to approach him but to contact us straight away.

“We would also appeal directly to Morris, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in.”

Anyone with information can email, call 01772209669 or, if they get no answer, call 101, quoting log number 1575 of June 1st. For immediate sightings, please call 999.

Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
