Written by on June 14, 2020

A driver has been arrested after a three cars were badly damaged during an early hours crash.

Emergency services were called to Black Bull Lane in Fulwood, Preston, at around 1.30am today (June 14).

Preston Police closed off a section of the road between Cadley Causeway and Lytham Road after a driver smashed into a parked car.

Officers said this ‘punted [the car] into a stone pillar which in turn projected into a car parked on a driveway.’

Pictures from the scene show wreckage and debris strewn across the residential street with some neighbours woken by loud smashes.

Police said the driver of the offending vehicle provided a ‘positive sample’ and was treated for ‘minor injuries’.

Lancashire Road Police posted on Tweet at 1.30am: “Black Bull Lane, Preston is currently closed between Lytham Road and Cadley Causeway due to an RTC. Minor injuries but a LOT of damage!!

After reopening the road at 2.50, they wrote: “And this is the reason why Black Bull Lane was closed.

“Vehicle collides with a parked vehicle, punting it into a stone pillar which in turn is projected into a car parked on a driveway.

“Driver of the one moving vehicle is detained and arrested after providing a positive sample.”

One resident responded to the Tweet saying: “Amazed it was just minor injuries, heard the car speed past and then the smash.”
