Warning to drivers as smashed car on M6 shows dangers of bad weather

Drivers are being urged to take extra precautions as they hit the road this week after a serious crash on the M6.
Two thunderstorm warnings are in place for Lancashire will heave rain and lightening expected in some areas.
Police shared this image of a crash on the M6 southbound at Leyland this evening (June 16).
The car can be seen on the hard shoulder resting against the barrier with its bonnet ripped off.
Officers said everyone in the vehicle was ‘OK’ and no details have been released on any injuries sustained by the driver or passengers.
Lancashire Road Police posted on Twitter: “MN14 came across this collision on the M6 SB at Leyland this evening.
“Everyone OK, but a timely reminder that when the weather changes, so must your driving.
“If it’s raining heavily, slowing down and taking bends steady will help prevent scenes like this.”
