A wanted man has been arrested after leading police on a high speed police before trying to hide on a shed roof.
Officers tried to stop a silver Ford Mondeo with the occupants wanted for burglary offences.
The pursuit reportedly started in Pilling and ended in Garstang. A stinger device was ‘successfully’ used to slow the car down as it travelled through Nateby.
Police said ‘desperate driving took over and they drove the wrong way on the one way system’.
One of the occupants was detained at the scene on Church Street in Garstang and another fled the scene before hiding on a roof shed behind The Kings Arms Hotel.
A negotiator was sent to the scene and the man eventually came down at around 4.45pm on Tuesday, June 16.
He was later arrested and taken into custody at Blackpool Police Station.
A Garstang and Over Wyre Police spokesperson said: “A successful ‘stinger’ use by Garstang Police in Nateby slowed down a Ford Mondeo being pursued by police.
“The occupants were wanted for Burglary offences and had taken the scenic route before two stung tyres and desperate driving took over and they drove the wrong way on the one way system.
“One detained at the scene while the other took off before trying to hide on an outbuilding roof off the High Street in Garstang.
“This male has also been arrested and both taken to Blackpool custody.”
