Disgust at large fly-tipping incident at Beacon Fell Country Park
Written by Skywave Radio News on June 28, 2020
A large scale fly-tipping incident took place at a popular Lancashire nature spot overnight.
Beacon Fell Country Park has been targeted by fly-tippers in the past and it is thought that either a large vehicle or several vans parked up at night and dumped the waste.
No formal police statement has been issued but once officer described the incident as ‘absolutely disgusting’.
A statement from Beacon Fell Country Park said: “Sadly, once again overnight, Beacon fell has been the victim of a large amount of fly tipping.
“There is so much that we think either a large vehicle or several vans have been involved. If anyone was on the park last night and has any info that might help identify the culprits we would be most grateful.
“We have cleared a large amount today but there will be some to move tomorrow. If you come up please keep your dogs and children away from any of the rubbish, thank you.”
The area has been hit repeatedly by fly-tippers in recent weeks with the coronavirus crisis leading more to visit Beacon Fell.
