Preston’s newest sports bar set to open in former Rift venue

A new sports bar looks set to open in a former Preston cocktail hot spot just weeks after it announced it was closed its doors for good.
In late May, Preston city centre bar Rift announced it was shutting down, posting a ‘time to say goodbye’ message to its social media followers.
The bar cited pressures caused by coronavirus as the reason why it would not be reopening once the Government gave pubs and bars the green light to do so.
But the venue in Main Sprit Weind, off Church Street, will soon have a new lease of life through a new venture called Replay.
Little detail is currently known about Replay, other than it describing itself as a sports bar with urban, R&B and throwback music.
New ‘VIP’ seating booths have been constructed in recent weeks, with TVs in each of them.
A more rustic approach seems to have been taken with decor, with a grey ceiling and a metal bar face now visible.
It is now known if the team behind Rift are the same as Replay.
The bar looks set to open from Saturday (July 4), the date which the Government has given bars the green light to reopen under the next phase of the coronavirus lockdown.
The bar is advertising it will be open form 9pm, with those RSVPing in with a chance of winning a £500 bar tab.
A job advert for its new head chef reads: “Replay bars provide a nostalgic American feel which is more than just food, sports and entertainment.
“At Replay, you’ll find craveable food and wings, cold beer, sports, and of course, great staff!
“Our bars have large LED screens, host dual sports events, bookable booths, Live bands, acts and entertainment, American drinks and food.”
LancsLive has approached the team at Replay for comment on the opening.
