Kate Garraway husband heartache as she leans on Myleene Klass for support

Kate Garraway is receiving support from Myleene Klass as she faces an agonising wait for her husband Derek Draper to regain consciousness.
The former Hear’Say singer has admitted she is in regular contact with the Good Morning Britain presenter to “make sure she is ok” after taking over her radio slot.
Myleene, was was a campmate with Kate on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, said there is not a day that goes by without her thinking about mum-of-two Kate and says her experience has been a “real eye-opener”.
Former Labour adviser Derek, from Chorley, contacted coronavirus in March and was later placed in intensive care at hospital and put into an induced coma.
He has remained in critical condition after his body has fought off the virus. He has a hole in his heart, needs kidney dialysis and is now diabetics following complications involving his pancreas.
Myleene told the Express: “There’s not a day I don’t sit in Kate’s chair and think about what she must be going through.
“I’m always in touch making sure she is ok…. It’s very, very sobering at the same time.
“Because I can sit with my family at the dinner table but not everyone can. That’s a constant reminder.”
She went on to admit that she’s doing double shifts at the radio station, but is grateful for the work.
She added: “I’m now doing double radio shows but I’ve not been able to do my other jobs and modelling shoots and performances because those have now been paused. They are not allowed at the moment.
“So it hasn’t been an extra workload but it’s definitely been a real eye-opener to what other families are experiencing.”
Yesterday Kate broken her 10-day silence on social media to congratulate Sky News presenter Sarah Jane Mee after she gave birth to a baby girl.
Kate has virtually stopped posting on Instagram and other social media outlets since June 21 while husband Derek Draper continues his health battle in hospital.
Her last Instagram post was a touching tribute to Derek on Father’s day, as well as her children’s grandfathers, Gordon and Ken.
Previously she had posted regular weekly updates after taking part with her children in the Thursday Clap for Carers salute.
