One more coronavirus death at Lancashire hospitals as UK toll rises by 44

One new coronavirus death has been registered in Lancashire’s hospitals.
Each day the NHS in England publish data on the number of deaths of people with Covid-19 which have been recorded in the last 24 hours by hospital trusts.
In today’s figures, the one further death in the Lancashire occurred at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, which manages hospitals in Blackburn and Burnley.
The death was recorded on Saturday, June 27, but no other details about the patient have been disclosed.
No further deaths were reported at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust.
It brings the total number of hospital deaths in Lancashire to 989.
The UK’s coronavirus hospital death toll has increased by 44, reaching a total of 33,356.
England has recorded 35 fatalities in its hospitals in the last 24 hours.
Eight people have died in Wales over the past day, bringing the nation’s total to 1,524, and one person has passed away in Scotland, lifting the country’s death count to 2,487.
Northern Ireland has yet to announce its number of hospital deaths for the past day.
On July 2, the total figures for coronavirus related deaths at Lancashire hospitals currently stand at:
- Blackpool teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – 232
- Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 241
- University Hospitals Of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust – 167
- East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust – 200
- Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust – 149
