UPDATE: Two charged as part of distraction burglary investigation

Two people have been charged following a series of distraction burglaries in Rossendale.
Police launched an investigation and appealed for the public’s help after reports that people had been knocking on doors in the Rossendale area claiming to be from a deaf charity and then stealing items.
Following enquiries two people have been arrested and charged.
They are two 15-year-old girls. One has been charged with three residential burglaries, two attempted residential burglaries and two fraud by false representation and the other has been charged with an attempted burglary.
All the offences were allegedly committed in Rossendale, apart from one in Worsthorne, Burnley.
They were both due to appear before magistrates in Preston today (Monday, July 6th).
