BMW drug driver arrested for doing doughnuts in front of police

The driver of a BMW has been arrested after brazenly performing doughnuts in front of police officers.
The incident happened at around 10.45am in the Buckshaw Village area at 10.45am (July 4) where the BMW driver attempted to drift around the BP garage off Dawson Lane.
They failed in their manoeuvre before pulling into the petrol station for a top up.
Little did the driver know that officers from Lancashire Police had, at the same time, stopped off for a brew at the neighbouring Starbucks.
The driver was stopped by officers at the scene.
A drugs wipe was conducted which returned a positive result for controlled substances, leading to their arrest.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Road Police tweeted: “Most would agree that doing doughnuts in the rain is very silly, especially in front of 5 Tac Op’s officers.
“The driver also failed a drug wipe and was duly arrested.
“The car was seized under S59, so the doughnuts cost more the Krispy Kreme.”
Speaking to LancsLive, a spokesperson added: “We had just popped in for a brew when this BMW driver decided to try (and fail) to drift round the roundabout outside on Dawson Lane.
“They span out then drove in to the petrol station and in to our laps.”
