Every single secondary school in Chorley rated

Written by on July 14, 2020

Getting your child into the right secondary school is a big thing for parents and can be a difficult task.

When they are there you want them to do as well as possible and with so many factors to consider, it’s understandable to have a nagging feeling at the back of your mind to wonder how they would have fared at a rival school.

But to help you make the decision, the very best secondary schools in Chorley have been revealed.

It’s all thanks to our Real Schools Guide 2020 which aims to give a far more complete picture than traditional league tables.

The guide, compiled by Reach’s data unit, ranks local schools on a range of different measures, not just exam results, to show what’s really important to pupils and parents.

It takes into account 51 different data points, including GCSE results and Attainment 8 scores, as well as Progress 8, pupil-teacher ratios and absence rates.

Parents can also go online to browse the full data, compare different schools, and find links to contact details and recent Ofsted reports.

The guide, now in its eighth year, has been praised by ministers and education experts alike. Former schools minister David Laws called it ‘public-service journalism in the best tradition’.

According to the comprehensive new guide, St Michael’s Church of England High School has come out as the best state-funded educational facility in Chorley.

In second place is Holy Cross Catholic High School while third is Albany Academy.
