The number of coronavirus deaths at Lancashire hospitals has risen again in today’s NHS figures.
One further death was reported at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, which manages hospitals in Blackburn and Burnley.
The death was recorded on Monday (July 13), but no other details about the patient have been disclosed.
No deaths have been reported at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, Lancaster Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which manage Preston and Chorley hospitals, and Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.
It comes as the number of coronavirus infections continue to spike in Blackburn with Darwen and Pendle, the areas under East Lancashire NHS Trust.
New measures have been introduced in Blackburn with Darwen to help halt to spread of the virus and avoid a local lockdown.
Health bosses have also issued an urgent warning to residents in Pendle to follow the coronavirus guidelines.
The number of coronavirus patients to die in UK hospitals has risen by 24 – just over half the daily number announced a week ago.
This includes 22 deaths in England and two in Wales.
NHS England said: “A further 22 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,125.

Earlier Scotland confirmed zero fatalities for the seventh day in a row, and there were no Covid-19 deaths in Northern Ireland.
Of the fatalities announced in England this afternoon, 16 happened in the past 10 days, the NHS said.
A week ago, on July 8, 47 people died in UK hospitals after testing positive for Covid-19, while two weeks ago that figure was 57.
