Chorley’s latest micro bar that’s run by a family brewery

A family run brewery based in Chorley are looking at way to expand their new business by branching out with a micro-bar in their home town.
Ben’s Brewery is a newly formed company run by Ben Haydock and his family, who kicked things off in May 2021, fulfilling Ben’s dream of having a family business based in Chorley.
The family run brewery has been set up by three generations of the Haydock family, all with a keen interest in beer.
Since starting in the brewery business six moths ago, Ben and his family have seen the company boom and grow in popularity in such a short space of time.
Now, to take the next step to continue growing the business, they hope to set up their own tap room or micro bar with a warm, rustic feel.
Plans have been sent in to the local council to use a former café on Market Place as the location for the proposed bar and already, Ben and his team are planning ahead to set out how it will look.
“We’re hoping to use reclaimed wood all around and make it look really nice inside,” Ben said.
“There’s going to be a small section for a nice little quiet area like a snug room and all ideas like ‘bring a book, leave a book’ with a few games knocking about. We want to try to do something a little different and we don’t know what that is at this point but we want to stand out from the crowd.”
With brewery businesses like Ben’s Brewery continuing to do well in the market, Ben says Chorley has become a local hotspot, recognised by locals for being a real ale hub.
Being able to welcome the prospects of opening up a tap room in his home town is a special opportunity for the Lancashire based business owner.
Ben said: “It’s a great spot and the people of Chorley have been great to us since we set up. We’re going to make a real nice place and it’ll be a beer drinker’s haven really.
“There’ll be a nice warm atmosphere, the way we run our brewery – we pride ourselves on the way we are with people and it’s served us well so far.”
If plans go ahead, Ben hopes to stock not only his own brewed beers and ales but also other local brands to provide the best of local beers.
