Nothing seems more appealing when it’s cold outside than cosying up in front of the fire – but popping to a cosy pub that’s local to you sounds great doesn’t it.
The Green Man at Inglewhite, Preston has been voted one of the best pubs in Preston and more than 25 people have left reviews on Tripadvisor commenting on how ‘cosy’ it is – making it perfect for these cold winter days and nights.
Established in 1809, under new management since January 2017 and operating as a Freehouse since 2018 with fabulous views from all sides, the Green Man is perfectly located to enjoy a drink or meal and just relax.
Tucked away in the heart of the Lancashire countryside the Green Man is a hidden gem. In the cold winter you can relax with a delicious meal by a lovely warm log fire, and in the summer chill out with a cool drink in the relaxing beer garden.
Talking about their menu, the website describes: “Our new menu has some old favourites but is carried by our new exciting range of tongue tingling dishes, from light bites to hearty dinners, there is something for everyone.”
On Tripadvisor, the pub has been rated the sixth-best restaurant of 360 in Preston.
With three open fires, you’ll always be able to keep warm in winter, it’s certainly sounding more appealing by the minute.
One customer said: “The pub is cosy and warm and there were several people around the bar area with dogs, which were made a fuss of by the manager and offered dog treats. If we had a dog that would be the type of reception I’d be thrilled with.”
Another said: “When we first entered the Green Man we were impressed with the ambience and really cosy feel of the pub. There were two blazing log fires and the Christmas decorations were fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.”
A third who was impressed with how cosy it was said: “Just called in for after work tea tonight. Lovely cosy pub, excellent pub food, the pies we had were delicious. Staff are friendly and we thought it was very good value for money. Will definitely return.”
The pub has received a 4.5 star rating from almost 800 reviews.
Talking about the pub in general, one customer said: “Tasty food in a tranquil setting. Had an enormous salad and pie. Independent pub with locally sourced ingredients.”
Another customer was so impressed they said they’d be back: “Faith was our waitress, so accommodating and friendly. Food was exceptional. Delicious pie and mash for my husband, and I on my healthy eating I had a yummy avocado salad option. Couldn’t resist the cheesecake though. Thanks so much and we’ll be back!”
A third customer left the review: “This lovely country pub appears to be thriving and with good reason – excellent food and first class customer service. My wife and I – and our little dog – were made to feel very welcome despite turning up for Sunday dinner without having booked. In fact the dog was positively made a fuss over!”
