Preston’s indulgent dessert and brunch spot Haute Dolci where every dish is a work of art

We’ve all heard the old aphorism – you eat with your eyes – and it felt pretty accurate when we paid a visit to new luxury brunch and dessert venue Haute Dolci in Preston.

Every dish was its own work of art.

The high end French-Italian fusion restaurant in the Miller Arcade opened in late December and is the latest of the ever-growing-chain, and is the first to introduce a full brunch menu to its traditional and popular dessert offering.

As soon as you walk in the place feels glamourous, grand and classy, with marble finished worktops, white neon strip lighting, metallic gold trimmings and mustard yellow seating.

Although the interior is contemporary and fresh it has remained respectful to the history of the historic arcade building, which was built in 1899 and has retained the original stained-glass windows and and other ceiling detailing.

It’s the kind of place you may want to head to for an after school or weekend treat, but also for a date, a meeting, catch up with friends or special family occasion.

The carpeted upstairs area with seating booths is available for private hire and the venue can also bake a personalised birthday cake.

Also, anyone lucky enough to own a Haute Dolci ‘key’, they will have access to a secret menu, discounts, special offers and to try new dishes first, for life.

So, what’s on the menu?

There’s something for those with a sweet tooth and savoury lovers, too.

The chefs worked hard to produce a range of dishes for us to try, including some of the most popular ones from the dessert and brunch menus.

We don’t want to give too much away as you really have to try the food for yourself, but as you can see from the pictures in the gallery, each dish is intricately and beautifully presented, with great care taken with little details, such as branded edible chocolate strips, dessert ‘shots’ as an appetiser and fruit toppings placed delicately.

They have great names, too, such as the signature ‘ultimate club’ with chicken and avocado and ‘cara-melt my heart’; a Belgian waffle with toffee sauce.

For those heading in for brunch, the spicy hash muffin which is served with an egg and rocket is a best-seller, while the chicken, peppers and onion toastie also has a little spicy kick to it. There’s also classic dishes such as French toast and eggs Benedict.

If a sweet treat is your thing, then there’s plethora of options, from traditional French crepes, American-styles waffles, ice cream, stacked pancakes, a range of pastries.

Delectable homemade cakes such as mini cheesecakes and macaroons are ideal to take home and enjoy.

Along with the usual coffee options such as latte and Americano, we recommend you try the blueberry and maple syrup latte, which is a truly distinctive taste and not as sweet as you’d expect.

And it looks pretty cool, too.

All food is halal and the venue is alcohol-free, however you can enjoy a fruity mocktail, creamy chocolate milkshake or citrus smoothie.

There’s also vegan pancake mix and Haute Dolci also caters for gluten free and celiac diners.

The Le Brunch Collection is available from 11am to 4pm.

Haute Dolci is a rebrand of the former 2,000 sq ft Heavenly Desserts and will seat up to 80 diners and retain the 20-strong team of staff.

Nizam Mohamed, founder of Heavenly Desserts and Haute Dolci, sold the branding rights to the former earlier this year.

Haute Dolci invited LancsLive to sample the new menu and have tour of the new venue in Preston.
